SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 28, 2019) – Wellfleet, a Berkshire Hathaway company specializing in accident and health insurance benefits, announced the addition of William (Billy) Farmer as Vice President, National Distribution, Workplace Benefits.

Farmer, who helped build the broker division at Aflac, is leading the Wellfleet Workplace sales team to deliver valuable and competitive Workplace Benefits products and strategies, driving market growth within this new division. He is also managing the division’s distribution approach, working with brokers to offer best-in-class solutions and services to employer group clients.

Billy Farmer,
Vice President, National Distribution, Workplace Benefits.

During his previous roles at Aflac and Allstate, Farmer held sales and distribution leadership roles where he increased sales and built executive relationships with technology, enrollment, and benefit administration partners for more than 10 years.

“As we build our market presence for Workplace Benefits, Billy’s work will provide a well-defined path to continued growth in a competitive market,” said James Ocampo, Executive Vice President, Workplace Benefits.

“It’s an exciting time in the workplace benefits market,” said Farmer. “People are looking to fill gaps that their traditional coverage leaves open. Additionally, employers are looking for ways to attract and retain talent by offering well-rounded benefits programs to employees. Workplace benefits can help with both.”

Billy and his family live in the Atlanta, Ga. area. The Farmers enjoy traveling together and are University of Georgia Bulldog fans.
